“I attest to Rainbows being an equal opportunities employer, embracing diversity without gender, ethnicity, age or racial bias. I am proud to sit on the board of directors having climbed through the ranks in my career progression since 2008”

- Grace Madzikanda | Director of Services and Operations

“I can summarise my career with ….a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. Rainbow has awarded me the opportunity to grow in my career, having started as a student on placement progressing to relief staff, SCW, SCTL and now I am in management. I highly recommend having your foot in the door to anyone looking to work in Social Care.”

- Samuel Rafferty | Manager 2015 to present

Having started my social care career in 2005 by opening the doors
of Rainbow community services, it is with great pride that I can say
I have never looked anywhere else, my retirement is coming up
shortly and it’s great to see myself finishing
with the company I started with.”

- Patrick Harry Dean | Social Care Worker 2005 to present

I have been working with Rainbows as a service manager for almost three years. As a person with extensive previous management experience my motivation in joining Rainbows was based primarily on developing a better work-life balance for myself that would benefit both my employer and family. This has proved to be very beneficial and I am delighted I made the change. Despite my motivation to come to Rainbows I have found the work to be challenging and rewarding. I enjoy the interaction with the young people and staff team. The organisation, though small has a strong structure that promotes a professional and person centred approach. Young people seem to manage to remain in the services for extended periods which is a testament to the support they receive and the commitment by staff to stick with the young people even during times of crisis.

I would recommend Rainbows for both those seeking to get a start in Social Care who have an interest in working with young people and for more experienced people who need a work environment that can be flexible and supportive of them also.

- Kieran O’Sullivan | Manager 2020 to present

My journey with Rainbow has been great so far. The ability to have a work life balanced and flexible roster means a lot to me, my family life has been accommodated in my career path….”
